| Rick, isn't clicking "not spam" the same as whitelisting? What else could Yahoo! mean by "not spam"? The Spam and Not Spam buttons help to "teach" the Yahoo! server what messages it should classify as spam based on the content and/or headers. When you use either button, it is instructing the spam filter that it did the wrong thing. Clicking "Not Spam" means, "the content of this message is not spam," not "I always want to receive messages from this email address.Your whitelist is completely different and is not connected to the Spam/Not Spam button. (Same as your blacklist.) A whitelist or blacklist lets you specify individual addresses that should always be treated a certain way, regardless of content. For example if you have a friend that likes to send you discussions of Replica Watches you should whitelist his address, otherwise his emails may be classified as spam. |
