Hi,
I am using old system(Pentium 4 with 1 gb RAM with 80 gb Pata HDD with graphics card and no sound card). Recently I installed McAfee total security . Since then it slow down my PC very very much.

Can anybody tell me which Virusguard should I install so that it could not slow down my system again???

And you can get the pro version free by completing a free offer like a credit check or something easy, AVG works very werll without taking up all the space that McAfee does.

Yeah Norton and McAfee are some of the biggest resource hogs I have ever seen! Plus their detection rate isn't effective enough and there are free ones that do it better.

I recommend Avast or AVG.

You should only have one virus scanner installed at a time so only pick one.

Note* You are using a suit that means it's comes with a virus scanner, spyware scanner, and a firewall. The above programs are only virus scanners but you can get those programs for free too.

Firewalls - Tiny Firewall or ZoneAlarm

Spyware Scanners - Spybot Search & Destory or Lavasoft's Adaware

Fully delete the Mc Afee and only use free programs -
1/ AVG as your "running" anti virus
2/ Malwarebytes and Spybot as your heavy scanners
Some people prefer SUPERantispyware to Spybot but I use what works for me -
Always update the programs prior to using them -
Just type the names into Google search and you will get the best links
