R & S-ers! What kind of anti-virus and/or anti-spam software would you recommend?

I just found out that someone attempted to change the password of this account of mine, which is my central and most-important e-mail account. A day ago I visited a site an R & S-er recommended, and even though my PC warned it as a suspicious site, I still ventured inside it for a while.

So basically I'm convinced my PC's been infiltrated by phishing bugs. Add to it the fact that its damn fcuking slow these days.

I used to use AVG, but since its proving to be pretty worthless (I update it everyday) should I change to a different anti-virus/anti-spam software?

I really really need some good opinions. Plz help me out. Thanks.

I protect myself by not using a Microsoft operating system

Run the small program called HijackThis. Then you dump the log file that it produces in here:

http://hijackthis.de/

And press Analyze. It will tel you if you have any spyware / adware / phishing crap.
